Eyes on the Ice Giants: Next Up, Neptune!
Ground-based collaboration with HST and New Horizons now
This was sent out late last week by the New Horizons Mission to Pluto and Beyond:
NASA’s New Horizons spacecraft is observing Uranus and Neptune from its location far out in the outer solar system this month, and the mission team has invited the global amateur astronomy community to come along for the ride – and make a real contribution to space science – by observing both ice giants at the same time.
Later this week – in tandem with the Hubble Space Telescope – New Horizons turns its color camera toward Neptune. Read how you can participate in this campaign.
